The D70 was my first DSLR, and still a very capable camera. It now serves as backup to my D200, and when I can be bothered to carry two cameras I tend to keep the Sigma 10-20mm on it.

You can buy them now secondhand for as little as £250. If you're looking for a cheap way into a digital SLR, it is a recommended route.
