This is the lens that sits on my camera 95% of the time.

The 35mm equivalent of 52-105mm, it is the perfect portrait lens, but also wide enough to accommodate full-body shots in a reasonable-sized studio.

Older AF pro Nikkors can be real bargains. The quality is right up there with the current pro lenses, so really the only thing you are sacrificing is a little auto-focus speed (older lenses use the body motor, while AF-S lenses have a motor built into the lens itself).
